Was driving through the muddle of the Peninsula the other day and saw, to my horror, that Cuban Delight is no more. In its place, with considerable renovation to the building, is something called The Burg Diner. I has a sad.
As with my old Unusual Kentucky blog, it seems the blogger's curse is well in effect in Florida too: that which I blog about often disappears soon thereafter. Makes me not wanna blog about nothin'.
According to The Burg's Facebook, the new place will actually retain some of Cuban Delight's menu, "but of course adding our Greek touch." Hmmmmmmm.
FYI: The Burg Diner is an extension of The Burg Bar and Grill on Central. The original Burg is fantastic. They have a great variety of choices. I have yet to try the diner, but I'm told that they kept one of the Cuban Delight cooks and will be offering some of their popular Cuban dishes along with The Burgs offerings. I'm hoping to try it soon. I'm sure it will be great because they're both wonderful restaurants. Combined they should be amazing!
